Nathaniel Stern: The World After Us (Art, Technology, and Ecology)

Nathaniel Stern: The World After Us (Art, Technology, and Ecology)

Date/Time
Date(s) - April 23, 2019
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Past performance and part presentation, Stern will discuss 15 years of collaborative and solo projects that span interactive installation, networked interventions, texts, performative printmaking, large-scale public and ecological art, and hybrid forms of video, drawing, sculpture and text, as he amplifies the relationships among humans, nature, and politics. If designers define problems, and engineers solve problems, artists, he says, create problems. What would happen if we engaged with the world – its media, concepts and materials – just a bit differently? Stern’s talk will be followed by a participatory discussion surrounding ecological aesthetics and critical craft, and their place alongside / within digital media.
