Student Art Galleries
BA, BFA, and MFA students are required to exhibit their work in partial fulfillment of their degree requirements, resulting in some 150+ student exhibitions annually in the six student galleries, two performance/installation areas, and additional hallway spaces. This unique and extremely popular program of weekly exhibitions and opening receptions is an essential component of the students’ academic experience.
Artist receptions are generally held every Tuesday evening, 6 – 8pm, following the Tuesday Night Lecture Series, 5-6pm in Art #133. All exhibitions are FREE and open to the public!

Ticket Info ►
SJCA Winter Series: The New. The Local & The Imported is a Pop-Up Shop styled art show that sells the aesthetic value of the current social issues affecting the City of San José. Through photographic prints and merchandise, this exhibition pulls in viewers with appealing visuals and marketing ploys. The works presented deal with issues ranging from first-generation students, DACA recipients, homelessness, the current housing crisis, and the large transit stations in development.
This is an art show for youth, the young at heart and for those that understand what makes this city of 1Million people so special, so lame, so rad and awesome, or wack, or– whatever! Come to see work by Nicholas Jimenez, the creator of San José’s most used Snapchat Geofilter!
