Okayama City Junior Orchestra – San Jose Youth Symphony Joint Concert
In celebration of the 60-year Sister City relationship between San José and Okayama, join us for a joint concert by the Okayama City Junior Orchestra (OCJO), conducted by Junji Yamaguchi, and the San José Youth Symphony (SJYS), conducted by Yair Samet.
The OCJO has members ranging from third graders to university students from Okayama and neighboring areas. They come together to perform fresh and genuine classical music while forming a rich sense of humanity through music.
The musicians of SJYS, ranging from age 8 to 20, are chosen from over 600 applicants. Through programs that assure young musicians achieve technical proficiency, musical knowledge, and an emotional connection to music, SJYS strives to make each performance uplifting, spirited, and exciting.
